Join me for a walk in beautiful Jenkins, KY, a city built on coal. This is in the heart of southeastern Kentucky with mountains surrounding the small city. Here you’ll find a history-rich community with a great work ethic and real southern hospitality. The city has a gas station, fire station, post office and a number of great businesses. You can get your hair done, get a great lunch, or just take nice stroll in front of stores, parks, and eateries. If you decide to walk around town don’t be afraid to chat up the locals. You’ll find they’re super friendly and even though this isn’t a big city by any stretch, I was pleasantly surprised at how natural they were around cameras. No one gave me any weird looks or snarky remarks under their breath. It’s like they were happy to see me and you just knew they were as authentic as could be. If you’re anywhere near Letcher County, be sure to stop on by Jenkins, and spend a few dollars here. Let’s help this great community GROW!!
